Lake Constance, spa district & foothills of the Alps
Wolfegg-Alttann and the surrounding area
The Wolfegg district of the Western Allgäu region enjoys a beneficial climate, nestling in foothills of the Alps close to Lake Constance, Ravensburg, Switzerland and Austria.
Wolfegg itself has the architectural style of a baroque residency. As well as the castle – the residence of the Princes of Waldburg-Wolfegg and Waldsee - which dominates the landscape, the former collegiate church of St. Katharina is not to be missed, followed by the grand houses of the public officials and those of the royal household.
Walking and exercise in the Allgäu, Lake Constance and Ravensburg area
This magnificent area with its fantastic views is criss-crossed with numerous signposted footpaths and cycle paths. The area is richly wooded and ideal for trips out. A network of hiking trails cover the glorious Alpine foothill landscape with an overall distance of around 150 km fully signposted. Once you’re out in the wilds, all paths are signposted with colour-coded symbols which relate to the named footpaths.
